Cai Guo-Qiang isn’t your average artist, for starters he uses gunpowder to create his art. His favourite bit being “the pause just before the power ignites”. Watch a video here and read a NY Times interview here.

Although this astonishing project wont be ready until 2010, this underwater hotel in Instanbul should be worth the wait. A seven floor, seven star hotel which is being built on the site of an old Tobacco factory under the city centre.

NIce bit of ambient for the new Sopranos series in NYC. Not at all cliched or stereotypical and quite funny.
Sopranos Ambient
A beautifully simple idea that works better than I expected. I’m not sure how many pictures you’d want to hang in the corners, but at least now you know that you can.

I love these striking Vintage Pink Tennis sneakers from Adidas. The colours work really well, despite being so strong. You’d better be quick though as they’re limited edition, so head over to Coolest Shop to pick up a pair.

Death and humour don’t usually mix, but this beautifully written and Art directed ad for Bert & Bud’s Coffins definitely strikes a good balance. It makes me want to try my coffin out now, now that is powerful advertising.

“Surprise your favourite tree with a gleaming stainless steel necklace. Fitted on indestructible marine line, finished with marine hardware”. Nice idea, not sure we needed the cold and practical information about “indestructible marine line”. though, sort of killed the mood.

I couldn’t fail to notice these intriguing new Coke Zero spots. The one with the brain was my favourite out of the lot which were shot by AgainstAllOdds through Passion Pictures. Watch them at their site here.

Directed by Spike Jonze for Lakia's Fully Flared intro, its a pretty amazing intro. This quote sums it up: "the most dangerous part of the introduction was Mike Mo Capaldi's switch flip, which was followed by a staircase being blown up with napalm" Brilliant.
